Classicism at the keyboard: It’s about wit, playfulness, surprise and delight in the music. Haydn’s Symphony No. 83 earned its nickname «The Hen» for its cackling theme in the second movement. Likewise, Haydn’s pupil Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed his Concerto for Two Pianos with a twinkle in his eye. After appearing in Haydn’s D Major Concerto, Rudolf Buchbinder performs Mozart’s work together with Irena Gulzarova and the Wiener Virtuosen. This ensemble of Vienna Philharmonic members puts a love of playing at the heart of what it does.
